Of course since these are all passive upgrades they should get increasingly expensive, so expensive that you can't hope to get enough resources on your own. You could have resource bundles/shipments (If you've played State of Decay, like that) where it's an amount useful to a group, rather than an individual. And/or harvesting buildings, lumber mill, mining outpost, herb farmers, etc. They could gather these resources passively over time to help ease this upgrading, or you could trade the resources out. Also, trading post, mount could be something with a pack, or just a pack you put on existing mounts (pack animals are statistically 20% more adorable). Better trade rates, stuff like that.

I've never met an artist, regardless of how long they've been doing it or how accomplished they are, that thinks they're done learning new skills to improve their art. Something that's helped me a lot is watching streams or youtube videos of other artists drawing or giving advice. Not all will be applicable, not all artists have a style you'll like, but it can all be helpful nonetheless

Personally I watched and read A TON of things about corsetmaking before I started, but that's just because I'm a sewing newbie and generally very insecure when it comes to creating things. I can recommend Morgan Donners and Bernadette Banners videos about victorian corsets. The Corsetmaking Revolutions Guide from Foundations revealed also really helped, because I worked off a one-size-pattern from the Symington Collection. In terms of cost, I think it came down to 15-20€ for fabric, 12€ for the busk, and another 20€ for the other supplies like grommets, lacing, cording, zip tie boning and 4 steel bones for the back. I'm planning to wear it as an everyday undergarment under skirts, as a support for my back cause I sit a whole lot. I found out that I really enjoy the actual process of figuring out the sizing, mock-ups and sewing the final thing, so for me it's more of a fun project than a necessery undergarment for a specific time period or a specific costume. And honestly, my only advice is go for it, even if you feel like you haven't figured everything out and you're not the most experienced seamstress.
